Dr. (Shihan) Mary Bolz is licensed by the California Acupuncture Board in acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine. She graduated from Meiji College of Oriental Medicine in Berkeley, California. Her training at this college was in Traditional Chinese Medicine with the Japanese and Korean influence. She is also qualified in whole foods nutrition based on the same philosophical concepts of Chinese Medicine; Yin and Yang. She has lived in Japan a number of years and speaks Japanese. She holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Physical Education, Pre-Physical Therapy, which she earned from California State University in Sacramento, California and a Master of Science in Oriental Medicine which she earned from the Meiji College of Oriental Medicine in Berkeley, CA. She also holds the Doctor of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine Degree which she earned from Five Branches University in San Jose, California. She has done externships in both Japan and China. She has had a very full and rewarding acupuncture and herbal medicine practice in Vacaville, CA for 20+ years. She is also a Master Martial Arts instructor of many years, having received her training in Japan and Okinawa. She has a 6th Degree Black Belt in Okinawan Kobudou, a 5th Degree Black Belt in Okinawan karate and a 3rd Degree Black Belt in Iaido (traditional, classical Japanese swordsmanship).
Dr. Bolz helps people with their health in various ways with her skills as an acupuncturist, professional Eastern herbalist, whole foods cook and martial artist with knowledge of movement, breathing and physical therapy principles. Meditation sessions are also offered.
Dr. Bolz’s wish, with this retreat center for humans and horses with health services for the local and far community, is to help facilitate health and well being for all sentient beings.
